Ryan Blaney demonstrated stellar racing ingenuity at Sunday’s Xfinity 500 at Martinsville Speedway, securing a place in the NASCAR Cup Series championship next Sunday at Phoenix Raceway. Denny Hamlin, sadly, bids goodbye to the playoffs, witnessing a difficult Round of 8.

Blaney unfailingly pursued Aric Almirola during a 168-lap stint leading to the finish, surpassing Almirola on Lap 478 of 500. Blaney took the chequered flag and secured his third victory of the season, marking his entrance into the Championship 4 for the first time. Notably, his win at Martinsville is his first.
