Name Change in Gear: Kern County Raceway to Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway

Kern County Raceway? Never Heard of Her.

Kern County Raceway Park, positioned in the heart of Bakersfield, California, finds itself under new management after the switch in ownership. Established in 2013 by trio Charlie Beard, Rusty Risi, and James Vernon, the raceway is now owned by Tim & Lisa Huddleston. Recognized for their work at L.A. County’s Irwindale Speedway & Event Center, the Huddlestons are changing Kern County’s racing dynamics.

One of the significant transformations is renaming the raceway to honor Bakersfield local and 2014 NASCAR Cup Series champion Kevin Harvick. Now named Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway, this change marks the beginning of an exciting chapter for the racing community.

Prominent figures Tim and Lisa Huddleston, alongside Kevin Harvick (@KevinHarvick), aim to enhance the vibrant vitality of grassroots-level motorsports. “Bakersfield is my home, and I am committed to giving back and ensuring a bright future for motorsports in our community,” Harvick stated.

Tim Huddleston extended thanks to Virgie Beard and Rusty Risi for their efforts in the facility’s success. He also announced that the suite tower would be renamed The Charlie Beard Tower to honor Charlie Beard’s contribution.

The revitalization will include restoration projects, events, and a new calendar. Detailed developments regarding Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway will be announced soon, building excitement within the racing community.
