From Third to Thirst: Cole Custer Whips Up a Victory in Phoenix

In an exhilarating end, Cole Custer claimed the victory in the NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship race after an intense overtime restart on Saturday at Phoenix Raceway. His third victory this season, Custer showcased his skill in navigating tight corners and fierce competition, even after facing challenges in the NASCAR Cup Series.

Custer, during the final restart, slipped momentarily to third place but swiftly regained his foothold. “I went from first to third, and I was able to shift the car all night. And Doug Yates horsepower worked out. I can’t believe we won after going back to third on that restart,” Custer said, expressing his gratitude towards his Stewart Haas Team.

His victory came close, finishing just 0.601 seconds ahead of Sheldon Creed and 0.007 seconds ahead of Allgaier. The night, however, was not as successful for John Hunter Nemechek, who had a series-best seven wins this season. An unfortunate flat tire just after the final restart cost him a good finish.

All in all, it was a night of fierce competition, tireless efforts, and a triumphant victory. Get all the race statistics and details [here] for the thrilling conclusion of the race.
