Sultana del Norte’s NASCAR Mexico Round: García and Tovar Take Center Stage

The NASCAR Mexico season’s seventh round in Sultana del Norte was a spectacle of skill, strategy, and sheer determination. The drivers of the Canel’s /Logitech G/Laboratorio Tequis/Trejo Promotion Team stood out, delivering performances that have positioned them as strong contenders for the Playoffs and the 2023 championship.

The weekend presented an uncommon format, with both the qualifying and the race unfolding on the same day. Rubén García Jr, representing the Canel’s /Logitech G/Laboratorio Tequis/Trejo Promotion Team, emerged as a favorite after showcasing his speed on the first day of activity at the Autódromo Monterrey. During the qualifying round, García secured the pole position, while his teammate, Santiago Tovar, began from the 12th spot.

As the race commenced, García faced fierce competition from Salvador de Alba Jr., who was determined to claim the top spot. However, García’s resilience and skill shone through as he regained the lead and clinched his second victory of the season, keeping his Playoff aspirations alive.

The Autódromo Monterrey was alive with excitement. Spectators witnessed thrilling overtakes, unexpected crashes, and the sheer determination of the racers. Santiago Tovar, despite starting further back, showcased his racing acumen by steadily climbing the ranks. His efforts culminated in a commendable fourth-place finish, which felt like a victory in itself. This performance has propelled him closer to the top of the championship standings.

Reflecting on the race, Rubén García Jr shared, “It was a fantastic race, perhaps the best this season. We maintained a consistent pace and battled fiercely with several competitors. I’m grateful to my team and Ing. Ramiro Fidalgo for their hard work in providing me with the best car for the weekend. Our focus now shifts to the next race, which is on our home turf.”

The anticipation is already building for the next NASCAR Mexico race, scheduled for August 12 and 13 in San Luis Potosí. This event holds special significance for the Canel’s /Logitech G/Laboratorio Tequis/Trejo Promotion Team as they race in front of their home crowd, adding another layer of excitement to the competition.
