Rick Ware Keeps the Keys: NASCAR Charter Not Taken Back

Rick Ware Racing’s No. 51 Charter Safe Despite Rankings

In a decision announced by Fox Sports, NASCAR will not retrieve Rick Ware Racing’s No. 51 charter at the end of this racing season. Bob Pockrass reports that despite finishing near the bottom in owner standings for the past two years, NASCAR has opted not to repossess. The No. 51 Team’s charter, initially owned by HScott Motorsports, was sold to Premium Motorsports before partnering with Rick Ware in 2020. Ware continued this partnership under the banner of the No. 15 team in 2021 and 2022 until it was renumbered as No. 51. According to NASCAR, while it remains their option, there’s no obligation to reclaim charters from bottom-ranked teams. This year, No. 51 stands 34th once again. For more details, [Click Here]
