Grab the Popcorn and the Umbrella: It’s a Double Show at Winchester!

The Winchester 400 weekend was gearing up for another day of intense competition on the asphalt. However, lost in the metronomic ticking of the timing clock, a steady drizzle began to fall, and as the humidity meter escalated to an alarming 99%, the officials finally declared, “game postponed”.

“We thank everyone for their patience today as we have tried to wait out the weather pattern,” announced the Winchester Speedway officials. While it was disappointing for the eager drivers, teams, and spectators who were expected to grace the event, the organization acknowledged the uncompromising nature of Mother Earth and postponed the program until Sunday morning, thus converting it into a doubleheader event.

As the events intended for Saturday’s lineup are pushed through, Sunday, October 15, will be an unprecedented day of racing, starting at a brisk 10:00 a.m. ET. The lineup will include the Midwest Modifieds Tour Run for the Gun 50, a 40-lap CRA Late Model Sportsman feature, a 30-lap horseplay for CRA Street Stocks, and a 25-lap feature for Winchester Speedway’s Crown Stocks.

The pit gates will spring open at 7:30 a.m. ET and spectator gates will follow, opening at 9:00 a.m. ET. Once the makeup program concludes, the grandstands will be cleared, paving the way for the Sunday program to commence as initially planned, including the anticipated pre-race autograph session.

For the fans unable to make the journey, the Saturday makeup program will still be available to Racing America subscribers, ensuring the experience isn’t lost to the digital audience. The Winchester 400 main event will be live-streamed on Racing America via pay-per-view.

The drivers’ lineup for the Winchester 400 has already been orchestrated based on practice times. After a thrilling reshuffle of the top eight following the ASA STARS National Tour rulebook, Cole Butcher will be waving the green flag starting pole, followed by his Wilson Motorsports teammates Gio Ruggiero and William Sawalich.
