In preparation for the NASCAR Cup Series race at Martinsville Speedway, teams have their eye on the Goodyear Eagles—the short track radials set to take an impressive 500 laps. Additionally, Goodyear has introduced thicker tread tires, expected to retain heat for improved performance. Greg Stucker, Goodyear’s director of racing, praises these tires for their ability to “fire off quickly” and be “more forgiving.” Given Martinsville’s reputation for heated racing, these cool-headed measures could prove crucial.
